Dr. Megel Barker, Ed.D.

AAIE Institute Instructor

Dr. Megel Ricardo Barker has been a leader, author, and researcher in international education for nearly thirty years. He is the co-author of three pivotal collections of educational research: Diversity and Inclusion Challenges for Leaders of International Schools, Issues and Trends in International School Leadership, and Critical Issues and Global Trends in International Education. In addition to leadership roles at TASIS England and Al Sahwa Schools in Oman, Dr. Barker is the Chief Academic Officer at Education Solutions International, a philanthropic organization dedicated to the professional development of teachers in Jamaica. He also chairs the Education Task Force at the Jamaica Middle East Diaspora. He also founded the podcast Your Book, Your Story, providing a platform for newly published authors to share their experiences. Dr. Barker began his career as a mathematics teacher. He is also a Scrabble enthusiast, husband, and father of four.
